"Synergy
results from valuing differences by bringing different perspectives
together in the spirit of mutual respect"
Stephen
Covey from Effective Habits of Highly Skilled Managers
Simulations
are done indoors. They last about 3-4 hours and consist of one major team
initiative that represents a simplified version of an organization. The
purpose is to create an environment that is similar to working in a real
organization with different teams representing different departments. These
departments have problem solving functions that must fit together for the
ultimate success of the project. The problem solving, people and collaboration
skills necessary to be successful in the simulation are the same skills
needed in real organizations. Participants learn through discovery learning.
As the teams work through problems in planning, organization and execution,
they discover what works and what doesn't, while learning how to combine
strengths and having fun in the process.
